Use Write on PDF to add text, drawings, highlights, comments, images and a drawn signature. Open a PDF in the online editor or browser extension, choose a tool and save an annotated copy. To replace existing text, click the text you want to change and choose Edit text in the prompt. Once the page is prepared, start typing.

Open your document in the Write on PDF editor and choose Add text (T). Click anywhere on the page, type your text, then adjust the font, size and color. Click Save to download your edited copy. For longer notes, choose Text box (W) to wrap text inside a box.

Choose Text box (W), drag a box on the PDF page and type your note. The text wraps within the box. You can adjust its font, size, color and alignment, then move or resize the box before saving.

Yes. The Write on PDF online editor and browser extension are free to use for adding text, drawing, highlighting, comments and drawn signatures. You do not need to create an account.

Open your PDF form and select Add text. Click a blank line or answer area to add your response. Move and resize your text to fit, add checkmarks or a drawn signature if needed, then save the PDF. This PDF filler places annotations over the page; it does not edit interactive form fields.

Use Select (V) to select words in a PDF with a text layer, then choose Highlight or Comment. For a comment, type your note and click Post comment. You can also use the pen, text boxes and shapes to annotate educational materials or mark up reports. Save to export your annotations.

Choose Signature (S), click Add signature and draw with a mouse, trackpad or touchscreen. Click Save signature, place it on the page and resize it. Save the PDF to download your signed copy. This adds a drawn signature, not a certificate-based digital signature.

Visit the online editor and use Open or drag a downloaded PDF into the window. With the extension, open the popup and choose Open an empty editor. Enable Open PDFs in the editor to open PDF links directly. You can also enable Include downloaded PDFs in the extension settings.

Yes. Click the text you want to change and choose Edit text in the prompt. Wait for page processing, then type directly on the page. Changes are kept when you click another field; review the preview and save. The original text in that area is removed. Fonts and scanned backgrounds may differ; this does not reflow the whole document. There is a limit of five scan attempts per IP address per UTC day.

Yes. Open the free online editor from this page, then choose a PDF from your device or drag it into the editor. Add text, highlight, comment and sign, then save your copy. Annotation tools run locally; optional OCR uploads only the selected page after confirmation. Crop PDF and conversion tools are still planned.

Optional OCR sends the selected page through our Cloudflare API to Claude on Google Vertex AI after you confirm. The password and your added notes and signatures are excluded. Opening a PDF link requests the file from its original website. Settings, drafts and saved signatures stay in your browser profile.
